Message from RIFL about MV Canna service

Wednesday 8 August 2012

The RDCA has recived the following notification from Rathlin Island Ferry Ltd:

"It is proposed that from Monday 27th August the Canna will be out of service to allow essential dry docking and survey to be carried out. We envisage having the vessel back into service Thursday 30th August. As per RIFL/DRD contract a like for like vessel is not compulsory for the first 3 days, therefore during this 3 day period there will be no relief vessel and extra passenger sailings will be provided if necessary. RDCA will be kept informed of any changes as this situation will be under constant review and is subject to weather and other conditions however if the dry docking runs over the 3 day period then a relief cargo vessel will be put into operation to cover until Canna is back."
