Water Usage in the Current Hot Weather

Wednesday 21st July 2021

Northern Ireland Water has asked the public to reduce their water usage, given the current hot weather conditions. In a statement, they say that "due to the hot weather and people holidaying at home, demand is outstripping supply. We need to ensure everyone has sufficient water for hygiene and daily use."

While Rathlin's water supply is not currently running low, residents and visitors alike are being asked to reduce their usage as well, so that the island's supply remains able to meet demand. The NI Water statement continues: “We want everyone to enjoy their home and garden, we just need people to think about how they use their water and if what they are doing is essential.”
