Irish Lights Statement on Engineering Upgrade Works at Rathlin Island Lighthouses 2021

The Commissioners of Irish Lights has issued the following statement on the programme of engineering works on Rathlin's lighthouses.

Resource Centre Easter Closing

The Resource Centre will close for the Easter holidays tomorrow, Thursday 1st April and will reopen on Monday 12th April. We hope to be able to update soon on a return to more normal access, as conditions allow. In the meantime, Happy Easter to all on Rathlin and beyond, and stay safe.

Vaccine Update for 60-64 Year Olds

The Department of Health has issued the following statement on the extension of the vaccine programe to 60-64 year olds.

"People who are aged 60-64 can now book a Covid-19 vaccine online at one of the trust vaccination centres.

To make an appointment please visit the online portal: COVID-19 Vaccine Service for NI.

The online platform is the primary source to book an appointment and should be used in the first instance.

Vaccine Scam Alert

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust has notified their staff that there is a vaccine scam being attempted by emailing people with false information. The Rathlin nurses have asked us to pass on this important message.

Manor House Reopening Date

Wednesday 27th January 2021

The Manor House has announced the date for their reopening this year. Covid-19 has obviously caused huge changes for businesses on the island, as elsewhere, and we wish the Manor House team all the best with their plans for this year.

As 2020 comes to a close, the RDCA would like to express a profound sense of gratitude for all the hard work and community spirit that has characterised Rathlin’s response to the Covid-19 crisis that has so dominated the year, as many of us experienced family separation, pain, and tensions over interpretations and grey areas of constantly evolving guidelines and restrictions.

New Rathlin Book Published

Nicky Sebastian, Rathlin resident and author of "Eight Walks on Rathlin Island" has a new book published tomorrow, Friday 18th December. Titled "Rathlin Island Cemetery. An Account of Those Buried Here - Their Lives and Times", the book is available from Island Treasures and directly from Nicky.
